I spoke with dating app users to understand why swiping often feels exhausting instead of exciting. Through interviews and surveys, clear patterns emerged around emotional fatigue, lack of authenticity, and the desire for fewer but more meaningful interactions.

Online survey (35 participants)
Ages 22–38, mixed gender and dating app usage (Tinder, Bumble, Hinge)

Rather than optimizing another matching algorithm, I focused on rethinking the dating experience itself.
Research showed that fatigue stemmed not from poor matches, but from how interactions were structured.
By reordering the experience, the goal was to shift dating away from endless swiping and toward more intentional, meaningful connection.
